Sharon has a strong financial and mortgage background to professionally and personally service the mortgage needs of her clients. Sharon offers exceptional knowledge of the vast number of loan programs available and continues to be educated in new and upcoming programs keeping herself and the VanderDuim Mortgage Team directly on the pulse of the mortgage markets and trends. With over 30 years of mortgage experience; she has held many management positions, including Branch Manager and Manager of Mortgage Development, Durham Region with a major financial institution. In 1999 she became an independent mortgage specialist. In 2005 the Bowmanville headquarters was opened as Sharon along with her team set out to transform the mortgage industry. Sharon founded the VanderDuim Mortgage Team with a passion to build great businesses with selfless people committed to going the extra mile to save their neighbours money. Since the opening of the Bowmanville office, the company has grown to serve numerous communities throughout the GTA. Under Sharon’s leadership, the VanderDuim Mortgage Team was honoured with the Clarington Reader’s Choice award for Best Mortgage Broker 2007. Melanie joined the VanderDuim Mortgage Team in 2004. A great asset to the office with her administration skills and computer experience, she is a valued part of the team. Obtaining her mortgage agent license in 2004, Melanie assists Sharon with her abilities and proficiency. Melanie completed a four year degree studying Psychology. She graduated in June 2008 with Honours from Trent University. She is a very creative young woman who is also testing her culinary skills in the kitchen! Melanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially at her family cottage. Melanie received her Accredited Mortgage Professional designation in February 2008.

Nicholas obtained his mortgage agent license in 2004. Since then he has been learning the industry, attending mortgage seminars, conferences and observing the day to day activities at the office. In 2006, Nicholas purchased his first home at the age of 22. In doing this, he experienced the anxiety of the first time home purchaser and the realization of home ownership. This first hand experience has enabled Nicholas to relate well to clients and understand the emotions associated with mortgage financing. Nicholas enjoys golfing, wakeboarding, snowmobiling, dirt biking and spending time with his boxers Diesel and Roxy. Nicholas received his Accredited Mortgage Professional designation in February 2008.

Emily joined the VanderDuim Mortgage Team in 2009. She is a great asset to this office and is thrilled to be learning the trade from her mother. Emily completed a two year diploma studying Non-Destructive Engineering. She graduated from Durham College in October 2010.
